Cascade Clamps - Established in Portland, Oregon in 1943, the Cascade Manufacturing Company began as a small machine store employing only 4 people. Total sales for that initial year amounted to about sixty thousand dollars. The very first recorded sales revenues involved the machining and assembly of stainless-steel valves, pipe fittings and various components. During five years of operation, the business had stretched to 40 employees and their yearly sales volume had risen to 330 thousand dollars. Today, Cascade is amongst the top global manufacturers within the material handling trade.
Design and manufacturing of the company's original hydraulic cylinder allowed this young business to aggressively pursue better business possibilities. Throughout the final 60 years, the trade of material handling has grown into a really complex area with Cascade proudly playing a part in its development. The company altered its name to Cascade Corporation in 1964. In 1965, Cascade went public with a preliminary offering of two hundred thousand shares of common stock. The business has expanded its production facilities within the United States with places in Portland, Oregon, Springfield, Ohio, and Warner Robins, Georgia. Cascade merchandise are made globally due to many subsidiary operations. In 1994, a new facility was completed in Almere, the Netherlands which is Cascade's European command center. This facility is built to be the essential customer support centre.
Continuing to grow, Cascade expanded their product offering further in 1996 and 1997 with the impressive acquisition of five corporations, together with the international leader in forks, the Kenhar Corporation.
